Crafting Review: January/February
Sooo...I may have completely missed posting a crafting review for January. Thus this will be a 2 month review!
Pants
I got my Mughal pants from December done and I'm quite happy with how they turned out. This pattern is still a work in progress as these pants are what I call a "working mockup". This means that the pants are fully completed and I can wear them at events, but they are not fully finished on the inside. For example, the seams are just zigzagged instead of being flat felled, and they are also machine sewn instead of hand sewn. I plan to analyse these over a few events to see how they can be improved in fit and pattern, both to make them work better for my body and to see how I can bring them more into line with period form. Once that process is complete, I will most likely be making a new, fully finished, pair.
You also may notice that there are no pictures of these pants...which is because as I write this they are packed for Salon Artificum on Saturday and I don't want to unpack them. I am learning that I need to be more proactive with taking progress and completion pictures.
Choli
I have also started working on a new choli. For those who know me, this is not surprising as I seem to be constantly working on a new choli. This is (I hope) the last choli I make in this style before I decide the pattern fits me well enough to not need any further tweaking. I will absolutely be doing a full project review along with a review of the experimentation that led up to this choli, but that is going to take a while to compile.
Hair
A Mughal woman is nothing without her hair, so I am trying to up my hair game. I bought some more yarn to make a longer false braid, as the paintings I see of very fancy women can sometimes have hair down to their lower calves. I also managed to get my hands on some really beautiful golden plaques, which I am planning on stringing together so they can go in my hair down my braid. I am still working on figuring out the best way to attach long strings of pearls to my hair, which I also see in the paintings, but I figure the plaques will be easier to work with and troubleshoot in the meantime so that I get some experience. I'm also debating on if/how I can string some pearls onto the plaques, since the aesthetic of a Mughal woman does really seem to be all pearls all the time.

Yassss with the *Final form* of the Choli. Also I'm excited to see how the hair turns out.
